I like task lighting and found I had a need to mount some lights over my toolbox. Well, when I got done I discovered that there wasn't any commercial switch cover that would fit well. So I machined one up. It needed a rectangular hole for the switch and some relief on the back side. I used a radius cutter to round the edges. Here is my result.

So cool! Polished aluminum too...really sharp. Now add a outlet someplace too... Rich
Nice shop, have any other pictures? What do you build in there? Cars?

Randy;

What you are showing is all that was asked of the Moderators. Even your small projects show much skill. Thank you so much for helping lead the way. You are an inspiration.

Actually it is you Bill that is providing the inspiration. It got re-ignited to do some posting that I have been slacking on. Thank you, keep up the good work.

Actually these are out dated photos of a classic 96 box that was replaced with a KRL 7023. When I did the box up-grade I added said outlet. I'll get some updated photos. I build what I need, the cars are just part of the fun.

Nice light switch cover. Also nice shop.

Thanks Jeff.

Here is an up-date. When I changed tool storage from a Classic 96 to a KRL-7023 I added the outlet. Here is a shot of the back of the switch cover and the relief. I am also throwing in a shot of the cord reel. I wanted to use the existing holes and not modify my new chest. I need to get you pics of the handle spacers that completes this build, stay tuned.

I just found the spacer pics. I knew I had'em, just couldn't find 'em. Mislabeled and misfiled.

I like the way you hung the 2 lights over the rolling tool storage cabinets via the AL tubing, very neat. BTW is that outlet GFCI protected upline somwhere?

Randy I meant to ask earlier but then another shiny object caught my eye. LOL How did you cut the square opening for the switch?

Boy you are sharp one there Jeff. :thumbsup: Actually, if you dont't mind the correction, it is a rectangular hole, but none the less it did present a challenge. What I did was use as small of an endmill that I had (I think it was 3/16, not sure) and then used a small triangular file to finish the corners. Thanks for noticing.
