I indicated it in the bore Andy. Every moving part centers on the bore of this part. It is essential that it is true.

Dan;

The set up maxed my lathe out. This is the largest I can do using the 4 jaw offset. But yes it did it well. The lathe was running at 800 RPM. Six light cuts cleaned it up.

Yes, that did clean up nice! Again, just asking questions here. Did you mount it on the outside rather than using the ID jaws in the hole for a more solid setup? My first thought was to mount it using the hole.

Dan;

If you don't ask questions, you don't get answers. I have no problem answering any and all of them. One jaw is reversed and the part is held from to the outside. I couldn't close the jaws to go into the bore.

Looking good there Bill... I was looking down below and saw your nice tool bit grinds. Man, I wish I had the patience to make nice bits like that!

It doesn't take as much as you would think Ray. The other "P" word is needed more, "Practice". Also you need to know when to stop and touch them up so you don't have to make it again. :lmao: But the key words are Practice and Patience as you say. Thank you for the kind words.

Left is before, two days ago. I fitted the indexing plate this morning. Only the final profile is left to do. I will be done today with this part.

Thank you Matt. It will get much easier on the eyes when all the sharp edges get softened. That's a job for tomorrow. Grandkids are here.

The TLC takes time. I'm working on the 1.5 inch edge. It's almost there. Using my Rigid Orbital sander.
