A colleague of mine spent a month doing environmental clearance testing in the area of the firestorm in Santa Rosa CA. This is a puddle of aluminum from an exterior decorative column. Very cool and terrifying at the same time.

Almost like the ones where they guy uses a fire ant hill as a mold. Comes out with some odd looking things but nice.

there are some photos from the fire area h
that show entire aluminum wheels melted into a puddle! And one of a newer ford pickup (with aluminum body) with body completely melted and only the steel parts of the frame left! Those fires got HOT

Amazing! Thanks for sharing.

A buddy's property was swept by the Cedar fire in San Diego. His house was spared but most of the stuff in the yard was torched.
That included a Porsche 914. The Mag wheels melted into a puddle and so did a large section of the trans axle. You could look through the basket of steel cords from the burned out tire and see the gear teeth through a melted hole in the transaxle.
