Is this an American Industrial Lathe?

It looks like it could be kind of rare- is there a nameplate on it? More pictures would be nice
Too bad you left the motor behind we probably could have helped you fix it, might have gotten it cheap or thrown in the deal

No nameplate on the lathe. The cost of the lathe was $100.00. He threw in a bunch of gears. I have no complaints about the purchase.

The motor is simple just buy a 56 frame motor SF 1.15 I would use 3/4HP motor on this size of Lathe.
The tooling drill Chuck and cutter try www.shars.com.
The manual see Yahoo group it is just a down load for free. Some may parts you need too.

Thanks Dave, I'll check them out.

That is an interesting machine- never seen one like it- has qualities of Clausing, South Bend and Atlas- great deal for 100$
First thing would be to determine the spindle nose thread and diameter

I posted 3 additional photos.

Looks like a sales brochure combined with a substantial "How To" section. Great piece of reference material, thanks. If the lathe is from that era, it's a lot older then I thought.

Ways do not appear to be flat. Does that rule out Atlas?
