I have some pieces of brass rod.
Mostly 3/8, a little 1/2" most lengths less than and close to 10", a few as short as 7".
I need a decent MT-3 live center.
Can't swear as to the composition, but it is scrap from a CNC operation making gun cleaning jags and patch loops. It machines very nicely.
 
I have an extra I'd swap

I haven't seen any brass round rod that wasn't 660 alloy brass. It looks pinkish when compared to 260 alloy,if both pieces are polished. 260 comes in sheets.

A tip: 660 doesn't like lead solder. Use lead free and all will be well.
