3D Printed Vacuum Hose Adapter

I had to print one of those a couple years ago. My German Shepherd pup obliterated one when he was in that stage where they chew everything.

It's amazing the things they can wreck, and how sneaky they are at swiping stuff off countertops. He got the USB dongle for one of my CNC pendants too, on the same day. He even mangled the metal parts.

You can print in stainless with many 3D printers. The snag is the filament is spendy and you have to send it in for processing. But you end up with a 100% stainless part. The cheaper filament ends up with 17-4 stainless, the not at all cheap version gives you 316.
The filament is made by BASF and sold by Matterhackers. I haven’t tried it yet, so no personal experience, but definitely intrigued.

I was just on that site, rubbernecking. Wish I had an actual use for one. They are intriguing. So far I have resisted.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated,
and then dragged down the rabbit hole to join the rest of us......

I need a 2-1/2" ID to 2-1/2" OD coupler for my exhaust system on the Jeep.
I sure wish I could just print one of those!
The trick is, to print an armature, cast around it in concrete, then remove (destroy if necessary)
the armature, and push an undersize pipe into the bore created. Then, pack your favorite explosive
into the pipe for a quick forming operation, or weld plugs into the pipe, anneal, and expand it
with a hydraulic pump.
