I hate mice

We had a dry spell cat wise, rats got into the shop, ate the 4-0 wires in the forklift, repaired all the wires but a small one must not be right, does got work correctly.

Placed a lot of snap traps, along walls or make fake walls.

Not have established cat colony, no more rodents.

A couple moved into the shop, litter box in corner.

Sometimes they use the floor, better than rats.

My daughter's Mercedes was hit by the little demons. It took over 6 months for the dealer to get a replacement wiring loom, which had to be made to order from the factory. This is her last Mercedes.

Don't you just wish that John Deere would quit making their wire insulation out of peanuts?

We have the black boxes with poison in them around our house. Very effective, no mice for years since we started the service. Happy wife for sure.

Peppermint oil, real peppermint oil. Spray everywhere. Then lay down dimatacious earth all around the perimeter

Don't get me wrong, I want all those hanta-virus laden, tick-infested, equipment destroying, chew monsters dead!

My problem with the poison route is the secondary effects to the animals that eat the poisoned mice/rats.
If you have cats or dogs around it could be really bad for them.

Some of the newer ones like Wilsarin, that despite the name, are NOT warfarin-based and therefore are a little more discriminate.
That one is made from corn cellulose meant to "interfere with the rodents digestive system and causes dehydration", but not affect cats and dogs.

My father used moth balls all the time and I don’t think they worked. We have a summer house and the garage would get filled with mice over the winter months. I got myself a boat four years ago and it’s stored in the garage along with a 05 3500 truck and mowers.
The mowers I’ve found just open all the compartments and hood so they don’t feel confined to make a home. As for the truck and boat I went and got bottles of pepppermint mouth wash and sprayed it all over the engine compartment and cab. The boat I sprayed all the confined areas and open as much as I can.
The pepppermint deters them but I don’t think it works as good as advertised. I still see dropping here and there.
Mothballs I don’t think work or if they do the mice get use to the smell after awhile.
My best defense has been to try and eliminate them with a bucket trap. 5gallon bucket coat hanger and two cans made into a long cylinder the length of the diameter of bucket. Put coat hanger through center of can cylinder. Like a log roll over a bucket. Take some peanut butter and put on can. Some wood for a ramp so they can get on the ride.
I set it up in the fall and try and get rid of the problem before the freeze so they don’t get comfortable. Usually get half a dozen or so within a week.
Peppermint seems to work with a high concentration and the bucket trap works a charm. I wish I had a camera on it to see it in action.

I had such a problem for awhile the diamotatous earth is natural and did the trick. They breath it in and they suffocate it works for the other little bugs too

Could be squirrels. They had a nest in my Romex storage.
