Does someone know what the size or number of the spindle/cam lock is on a 12 CK?
I'm not even sure what to call it.
And is the 12CK spindle/cam lock the same size as is on a 10EE?
Thanks

I do not know for sure. But i do know how Monarch built lathes - more stout than a brick sh*t house.

No way they stayed with D1-3. that's the size on the 10EE lathe.

This is from one of Monarch's chuck manuals...

THREE SIZES OF cAMi lOClt SPINDLES
Monarch has standardized on the cAM@lOClt spind~e, three sizes of
which cover the entire range of Monarch lathes as follows:
The Standard D-1-3" nose is used on the Monarch 10" Toolmaker's
lathe, l O" Manufacturing lathe and 1 O" Manufacturing lathe with turret.
On all lathes of 12", 14", 16" and 18" sizes the D-1-6" nose is used.
On 20", 2211
, 25" , 3011 and 36" sizes the D-1-811 nose is used.
All chuck manufacturers make chucks with steel bodies to fit directly
to the cA#llOClt spindle nose without the use of adapter plates. The
cam-lock studs and lock screws needed for each chuck are supplied
with the chuck by the maker.
THE MONARCH MACHINE TOOL COMPANY

12CK is a D1-6, 10EE is a D1-3.
Not sure what the 612-2516 uses as I haven't had that chuck off, still working on getting that one fixed up. (15" chuck is going to require a hoist to remove). I had thought it was also a D1-6 but @reds post implies otherwise. The documents (operators manual) don't actually specifiy. One Monarch brochure on vintagemachinery.org identifies it as a D-1 6".

Does look to me that the 10EE will work with a BXA toolpost which is what I use on the 12CK.

Call me a Monarch addict, though not an expert!

@reds, do you have a date for that chuck manual?

Thanks fellas.
I have one of these indexing devices that came with my CK. I will likely never use it so was thinking about listing it on ebay. Take the $ and put it into something I Can use.
Might fetch a decent price if it fit and you could wave it in front of the EE crowd.
Guess it won't fit the EEs tho.
