Some of the good weather cars are starting to rise up from their deep winter slumbers. About time too!

It's pretty much always summertime in Florida! :lmao: A cool winters day there is probably like a cool summer day in Ontario. :))

Nice MG. What year is that?

Engine compartment still needs a bunch of attention, but here's how it is now

Wow that's beautiful!

My friends were really into Austin Healy's and MG's... Yours looks fantastic! 1.6 liter is a pretty sizable engine for those cars, right? I remember a lot of talk of 1.1 and 1.2 liter engines..

I think it looks like amazing shape- perfect season to take rides, right?!

Are those Webber side-draught carbs? 8)

Early models were 1500 cc's (55-59)
68 hp originally, upgraded to 72hp

Later models had the 1600 cc (59-62)
78 hp

According to The Motor Magazine in 1959 top speed was 96 mph and 0-60 was 13.3 seconds.... it also got 24.7 mpg back then.

They also did a 1600 twin cam. (58-60)
100 hp

Sharky--that sure brings back memories---my first sports car was a white 1960 MGA roadster---I had a lot of fun driving it in the mountains of Colorado--a drunk driver with a 55 cadilac with the bullet bumper wiped the whole driver side out in Kansas---I didn't have comp ins and he didn't have any ins and got away because his family was rich. I didn't even see him since it was at night and he had already been bailed out and headed back to Denver before I got out of the hosp the next morning---I have forgiven him but it was awfully hard on me as a young kid still owing 2K and only having an ugly car left---- I drove it with the mangled side for a couple years till I went into the AF in 1963.--it was sure a fun car--a lot of good memories with it--good seeing your nice 61----Dave
