I bought an old Kawasaki Triple some time ago and now it is almost ready to use. There is no snow here now and the temperature is about +5 Deg C. So it is time for the first test runs.

My work has been to shorten the fork tubes, since the fork is from a Suzuki GT750 to use the huge drum brake, replace the shocks to better ones, and replace the ignition system. It was too weak and misfired above 6000 rpm. The old system handled three ignition events per revolution since the cylinders are separated by 120 degrees, and was not able to charge and discharge the CDI at higher rpm's. So it has got an ignition system that is separate for each of the three cylinders and now the engine sounds as a Formula One machine :)

A few pics from the progress.

Very well done, those triple 2strokes were really exciting to ride!
Thanks for sharing.

Great job as usual Micke. Those where great on GO, but not so much on STOP. Friend had a breathed on 750, and it was scary fast back in the day. Mike

Boy does that bring back memories- the H2 held the land speed record at one time
I had a 75 H1, crashed it in Denver on a snowy mountain pass, walked away without a scratch

The 400 was nice too, but they crippled it with battery and coil

Had one is high school. I killed it, not the other way around:cool:

Have fun!!!!

Sailor killer. Great speed, but not enough trail. Be flying along at high speed, back off and compress the front forks while unloading the rear as you surge forward and the trail gets way too short - tank slapper and you're down. Should have all come stock with steering dampers. You should add one as I doubt that you want to increase the head angle.
