The motor on my King Rich mill 5hp 415V, I opened the motor found the Y connection cut it and brought the wiring out to a box. I can now configure the motor for 240 or 415V. This option is the cheapest.
I have that same grinder except my motor is an Excello . The thick copper motor tag says 440 v . This a WWII machine .
I hooked it up to a large (20KVA) transformer at 440 v . It ran great for about 15 minutes then started to get very warm . About 300 degrees measured on the inside . The motor shop did all the testing and said it ran fine on 220 v 3phase .
They said it was possibly rewired to 220 v earlier .
I have been running it off and on for several years on 220 3 phase . It is a very accurate grinder . Oh yeah ,I stamped the motor plate “220 v” .
