I had some time while waiting for other parts on order.

So I thought I would post my chuck upgrade. I did this about 6 months ago from Brian's site

http://briansworkshop.weebly.com/

It turned out great, Plus since then I had found the spindle was bent or poorly made.

I will need to recheck it for run out once everything is back together.

I bored it to 20mm.

Nice job!

Thanks for the link, too...it will come in handy for sure.

Just yesterday I bored my 3"-3 jaw chuck on my Craftex 7x12 mini out to .772" (it originally was .685"). Did mine a little bass-ackwards though....not knowing any better, I just took the jaws out and left everything else in place while boring, including the plastic cover on back. At .772" bore I was just starting to touch the 3 tiny screw heads that hold the plastic cover in place so I stopped there. Then I completely disassembled it, thoroughly cleaned it all up (nothing made it in where the gears are, btw) and lubed all moving parts with graphite spray. Now I can actually fit 3/4" stock through the chuck!
