3/8" belt on a 1/2" pulley

We had a 10' rotisserie BBQ machine, ice cream machine motor, big, and small bicycle sprockets, with a bicycle chain driving a Dodge truck steering box. 1 revolution a min., you could not physically stop it. Sorry Mr Hudson just brought back a memory.... :)

Bill I always love reading your posts. Redneck/hillbilly works for me. I have looked into using chain instead of v belts. There would still need to be at least one combo sprocket to get the needed reduction. I have even looked for a lower rpm motor. The manual for the saw mentions an 1140 rpm motor. Haven't found that either in my searches.

Belts are cheap, take the pulleys to a good supply house and get CORRECT belts.

There are different pitches of belts, correct one will work well, wrong one not so much.

The issue is different size belts. The pulleys are 1/2" on the motor going to a 3/8" combo back to 1/2" on the saw. I think that I will pass on these pulleys on Ebay.
