I've got a 618 micromaster missing it's spark guard. I am considering making one out of sheet metal, but was wondering if there was an inexpensive source of premade/used ones? I've been watching on eBay/Google and haven't been able to find one.

I have one on my 618 if you need dimensions . JAnderso also has a 618 that I know of .

Erich,
Anything you need.
I think you could make one pretty easy.
16 gauge sheet metal for the strength.
I bet if you found one on EBay you would have to pay up.

I was waitin on ya Jeff ! ;) I sure wouldn't want to buy one . :eek 2:

There was one for parts on Craigs List for the Petaluma / Sebastopol / Santa Rosa area some months ago.

The height would probably be really beneficial, Otherwise I figured I'd just build to my machine.

Ah, wow! Thats bigger than I thought, I really was only thinking the end piece. 16 gauge sounds easy enough to acquire. I figured that and pop-rivets would be my way forward.

It is high , and sometimes it even keeps your coolant and flying parts off your finished walls !

This SG came with the “flood coolant” accessory kit.
It has this drop in shield that I find to be a PITA.
You may want to add one to yours?

Hah, wow! Thats a heck of a guard. Seems like it would make it difficult to see what you're doing. I'm just trying to keep the grinding dust from the sparks from getting all over my bandsaw!
