Whats your opinion of the chuck mounted on the lathe in the pictures.....I think it looks to be more similar to what a wood lathe chuck looks like but that's based on my limited experience which don't add much Factual knowledge in this instance!

That's what the really funky 4jaw chuck that came originally with the lathe looked like. I didn't know that until a thread here on HM because mine had been replaced with a normal 4jaw. Which I'm really glad of.
