Now, I just need the motivation to finish that blessed Atlas mill restoration. I've never encountered a machine with so many tiny parts.:eek 2:
 
Useful tool, not just for tapping etc.: by bringing the tailstock centre up into the centre-drilled hole on the back end to compress it lightly you can use it to centre a marked (centre-punched) location in the 4-jaw, put the sprung point in the pop-mark, put DTI on the sprung shaft and you can bring the pop-mark to centre just like centring a shaft in the 4-jaw. Possibly the quickest and easiest way to centre oddly-shaped parts for drilling/boring/internal threading!
