For those in the NYC area, something to keep an eye on. I expect that Ms. Galuppo will be pressured to sell out eventually given the burden of the annual payment of property taxes in an increasingly affluent neighborhood.
 
What a great story. Too bad the machines are not still in use.

The Thirsty Beaver (yes that's the real name) was there first and would not sell. The developer built around it. Now it is really famous!

This is a great story. Thanks for posting. It will likely result in gentrification, regardless, but I love seeing viable businesses hold out as long as possible.
