I previously posted pictures of how I adapted a rack and pinion torch holding apparatus to serve as a table height adjustment on my old Walker Turner drill press. My two magnetic drill based drill presses now have the same arrangement. A 2 3/4" ID shaft collar is clamped to the column, and two 1/2' X 1" cold roll fingers engage the collar to raise or lower the table when its Delta support bracket is loosened. A crank has been substituted for the original knob controlling the pinion gear. Each drill press has an additional Delta safety collar on the column.
Hopefully, this drill press section is the most appropriate place to show this.
