Another what is this?

They are multi use carbide blanks. We used to braze them to the wear bars on our snowmobile ski's.

I have a chunk of carbide that's the virtual twin of your ½ x ½ x 1 ½" piece, including the rounded corners. I think it's something that my father had in his leftover tool box. Surprisingly heavy! I calculated volume, weighed it, and confirmed it's WC. No idea of what it was originally meant for. Just fun to have around as a momento.
