I was looking for a place to post this since it is mostly woodworking, so I guess this is the best place for it.

We have a get-together every year (for 2 years now) that brings together like minded rust junkies to talk machines, tips and techniques and good food and beverages.

The Great Canadian Rust Junkie Fest is held each year in Ottawa. Here's some vids of this years events. More to come once I get the videos edited.

Part of the hosts shop.

Some pretty nice antique mortisers that mostly were made in the Gananoque area of Ontario

I really enjoyed the tour. Thanks for the post. My mortiser is much too modern to compare to Jack's, but here is a pic.

Oh man, your far too modern.

In al seriousness, that is a nice mortiser.

Got it a few years back, only bidder at min. Bid of 49.99 on eBay. Had to drive a couple of hundred miles.

I thought my mortiser on my 1920s Parks A87 combination planing mill special run by line shaft-- was old and rare---I enjoyed seeing the real old ones------what kind is your mortiser ELHEAD ?------any other member have an antique one?-----Dave
