Anyone have a Cincinnati No. 1 Tool & Cutter grinder?

I just picked up one of the subject machines. I didn't even know Cincinnati made a #1 (I've seen several #2s), but here it is.... not very common and I've only found manuals/information on older versions than mine. It's a Milicron model LE made in France in 1972. All the dimensions and features match up to the older No. 1 so I assume this is a more recent replacement after Milicron took over. Picked it up for a song because we don't know if it runs or the condition of the spindle bearings. Motor smells good and spindle feels nice. For what I paid for it, if I have to do some work it won't be the end of the world (but I'm hoping it doesn't need anything!).

I've already got a K.O. Lee T&C grinder, but I've been looking for an upgrade since it doesn't have roller bearings for the table. Just cast iron sliding on cast iron. It's also fairly light and isn't as stable as I would like. This Cincinnati is smaller than the #2 Cincys and a nice size for my shop. Nice, smooth, bearing table movement and much heavier weighing ~1/2 ton. Fully enclosed motor/spindle so no exposed belt.

It came with zero tooling and only one hub for the double ended spindle, so now I'm looking for whatever info I can find, because I'll be making most or maybe all of it. I've never seen a table slot like this one.... it's not a T, but a square with one side beveled (see picture below). I'd love to see some pictures of what goes in these if someone can post them please. I'm not sure if it's a simple nut or if the bottoms of the attachments have a mating key that fits into it with some type of lock???

So anyways, if anyone knows anything about these please post and help me out!

Here's some Craig's List posts. Luckily, he just got it at an auction a week or so ago and had it covered. If it had sat outside long I wouldn't have even gone and looked at it. The rust in the pictures looks worse than it really is. Most came off when I rubbed it with my fingers.

Nice!
2 T&C grinders? The rest of us may not even have a T&C grinder.

After I get the Cincy refurbed and purring and get tooling I'll be selling the KO Lee. I'll probably keep a lot of the tooling from the KO because the two machines are about the same size and I can use the centers and other tooling I've already made. I certainly don't need two! :) Just looking for one I'm happy with.

Man! Looks like these things are rarer than hens teeth.... I've posted on two different sites and don't even hear an echo for any info out there, other than the 1956 version of a manual I already found.

Oh well, it looks like a nice machine and will fit my needs nicely. I'll just have to play around with things a little more. I guess that's where the fun comes in right?!? :)

Well made, nice machine.

After a LOT of cleaning and a little refurbishing the T&C grinder is ready for operation. I'm pretty happy with the condition everything was in, especially for the price I gave for it! Now I need to move on and make a pair of centers, some riser plates for some of the things I have and a batch of grinding wheel hubs. The spindle appears to have the same taper as my surface grinder, but is smaller in diameter. These hubs are terribly expensive compared to the larger ones my surface grinder uses (which aren't cheap either!). I also don't want to spend hundreds for a pair of centers and making a set will be a nice project. After gutting all the components out of the electrical cabinet in the base, there was a spacious area for my VFD. Here's a picture of the machine all cleaned and painted and a shot of my little hobby grinding area.

Not a #1 but here is our #2 dedicated for sharpening gear hobs. This one has some history.
