Boyar Schultz 6-18 1953 Surface Grinder Spindle Oiler

Sorry Ben mine is different. Mine is a 6x12. The oil cup on mine is at the top of the column. I'd still check for sealed bearings on yours.

Sorry for the thread necro... but I recently picked up a 1957 Boyar-Schultz 612 (S#9531). The drip oiler on top is gone (as in broken off) and I'd like to replace it.

Does anyone have any pointers on a replacement that would work? I'm looking for inexpensive functionality, not a period-correct replacement.

Thanks!

New oiler in place. the front right way cover is busted off, so I'm 3D printing another one. I'll probably put it in back out of the way, since it won't be as strong as the original metal ones.

Looking good. I was at a auction Thursday that had three Boyer Shultz grinders in a lot. All three were taken apart in various stages. The place rebuilt equipment had large punch presses all taken apart. Anyways all three grinders went for 80 dollars. If I had a place to store all of it I would have gotten them. The one I have is in good shape and I just don’t have the room. someone got a killer deal.

That's a crazy deal, I love the treasure hunt of auctions.

I paid $500 for mine, with loads of stones and a diamond nib dresser, so quite pleased with that.
