Preload is already set within the assembly. All that was done was I put back together exactly the way I took apart. Marked inner races to shaft outer the same.
For the run in I hand spun for alittle to distribute grease. I have a vfd so I start with soft start ran it at 40hz for five minutes then increased to 50hz for another five and finally 60hz. Spindle has zero runout with a hub I’ll get between a half to a tenth. Very satisfied with the rebuild.
 
Just for fun, can you post some pics of your first actual grinding operation and the surface finish!
