Before digital there was analog. I haven't seen anyone else mention these. They were quite common in the crowd I worked with, and are much easier to mount and dismount than a DRO.
I'm afraid I didn't make extras, only had one mill.
It's not my design, they were on every mill when I went to work for Fred. Having a DRO on X and Y was a big deal, Z was unheard of.
The first ones I saw did not have the extended sleeve for the spindle and the setting was slightly affected by tightening the thumb-screw.
Permission granted, just make some extras to pass around.
