Hi All
So I have been lurking here for a while. I finally got my Bridgeport up and kinda running. I am finding a few issues with it. I have read the post on the quill getting tight, followed all the advice from the post, to no avail.:( I decided to take it apart and this is what I found

I have stoned the ridges down so now the quill moves freely. My question... is there a spec on quill to bore movement? My plan is to put it back together and run with it. See if any other problems arise. Any comments will be welcomed. Thanks.

The typical problem is that set screw at the bottom of the quill gets over tightened. Which then makes the quill bind in its housing. And I suppose someone could have married a replacement quill. A totally bad idea in my opinion. Do I know the clearance spec…no sorry. All I know is it’s a pretty darn good fit. Good Luck on your project…Dave

Ya I was hoping that was the problem, but there wasn't one in it.
