Hi Everyone. I picked this up a couple of years ago and for the little milling I was doing it seemed to be okay. The base seems in good shape and I would like to put an original head on it. What does everyone think? Anyone know of a head for sale?

Why? Excello made quality mills. Unless yours has a costly to repair problem, I would keep it. If you take the brand labels off, you probably will not be able to tell the differences between them.

Nope, you can tell the difference. The XLO is built better. I've had one twenty years now.

Thanks for the responses. the head does need some work. the quill just drops when the lock is released so the spring must be broken and some other issues. maybe I"ll rethink it.

The quill spring issue is often fixable without even buying a new spring.
