Hi I'm a total noob so please bear with me ( and yes I have tried searching for the answer ) My Busy Bee model 1977 drill mill with 28.7" x 8.3"
table , says it has 16.9 " of x travel and 7.5" of y . Unless I run the table partially off the base, my x travel is only 14 " . Where do they come
up with the extra 3" ? Thanks

Les

have you checked your travel limit stops? They're at the front of the milling table and are used to stop the table travelling further than you want it to. They might have been set closer in than normal by the previous owner/ factory.

I have an Enco round column mill drill. When I move the table all the way to the left there will be about 3" of exposed dovetail.

Possibly a slight exaggeration by the manufacturer? 12" is still still pretty good - if the table doesn't sag at full travel, maybe their claim is legit.
