Got the bed painted, and had to make room in the workshop to work on the headstock, so I decided to put the apron together and store it on the lathe. Here are some "in flight" progress pictures. Legs are not done yet. Also, cross slide has little to no backlash, surprisingly little wear. Compound has seen some use, backlash is about 1/2 a turn, maybe a wee bit less. However, with the tapered, adjustable gibbs, both the cross slide and the compound run smooth and solid. I can live with backlash, not that hard to compensate for.
