Chuck sizing question

Bought the Craftsman 101.28940 (12x36) I posted about earlier, pics tomorrow. I was wondering if a 6.5" three jaw would be a good fit for it.
It has the stock 8" Craftsman 4 jaw. Thanks

Yes 6 or 6.5 will be a good fit. I have an 8" 3 jaw on mine and wish most of the time that I would of got the 6 instead.
 
Definitely a good fit. My 10" lqthe is quite happy with the 6" 4 jaw. It seems to be my main chick now.
 
I figured you would get it..he come down some for you?..can't have toooo many lathes..
 
Yeah he went from 1k to 900 then I got him down to 840. Ways in great shape, passed the carriage test with flying colors. Makes my little 6" look like a Fisher-Price toy :cupcake:
He has a nice Bison 6.5" 3 jaw (two piece jaws) for sale which I might buy tomorrow- I'll sleep on it
 
I'm happy for you..always nice picking up a new machine..should've got chuck while you were there.would have saved you a trip..
 
Have to go back anyway for the lathe LOL I could only take some of it back today- didn't want to try to stuff it in my Cherokee-
Easier to drop it in my little pickup and cherry-picker it out
