As some of you may have observed, I am rather fond of my Cincy 1B.
She was well used when I got her, and needed work to make her operable.
Since then I've put lots of hours on her. Lots.

At this point I've got the X and Y gibs both fully inserted and shimmed.
The acme screws on the hand feeds are getting sloppy.
It is increasingly difficult to hold tolerance.
I've learned heaps!!!
Found a 1D locally, I hope to visit next week at a price I can afford.
If she is in better shape, then I may bring the 1D home with me.
This puts the 1B on the curb.

Options?
Sell her at auction for some unknown price. Likely less than scrap, for scrap.
Possibly find some hobby blacksmith who wants a big table to drill holes.
Or.... part her out.

I'm wondering if there is anybody here at HM who needs parts?
Note: no powerfeed.

Suggestions?
Yes, I've considered rebuilding her, scraping, turcite, new acme screws/nuts.
If she had a BP logo and variable speed she'd sell at a huge profit.
But, she is a Cincy and for all of her excellence, she will likely not sell for anywhere near all the rebuild hours plus the cost of parts (acme screws and nuts).
Suggestions?

Anybody here need parts?
This is a sad day.....

If I understand the parts manuals correctly, the only difference between the 1B and 1D is the head. And the electrics changed in later versions. I would say that if you bring ithe 1Dhome. build the best machine you can from the two. And then sell the other as a starter machine.

In other words, you may have a 1D pretty soon. Please share pictures and more info as soon as you get it home (a Cinci 1D? what's not to love?). I hope that comes together for you. David

If you were closer I could use the table . But it may be better to wait before parting it out. You might need some parts yourself. Good luck with the new baby . Don't forgot we love pictures.

I've not yet seen the 1D. But, am very aware of the part swap potential. I've even considered shelving the 1B head. Just in case.... It's good to know someone might want the table. Just a matter of transportation...
