Although the original Clarke CL300M comes with imperial lead screw, there is a kit to change leadscrew and half nuts to metric.
I nstalled the kit on mine from day 1 as in my country everybody (but plummers) use metric.

Makes sense to work with the most convenient system. Spent several weeks in Greece with the wife a few years back, mostly on Crete. Beautiful place, and lovely people. Cheers, Mike
