bought a 1500 about 2 months ago with the understanding that there was a feed engagement issue. person i bought it from pulled the front apron off. if you have ever pulled one of these off these lathes you know you have to remove the "reverse feed" knob. in the process of him pulling that completely out he dislodged the "spring" "item 18-1039" from the reverse feed knob, he believed that the spring had just fallen further back into the apron. i pulled the apron off and there is NO place for it to go. i believe i can see it sticking out of what appears to be a brass bushing that does not allow it to come out. it is very confusing HOW this thing is supposed to work in conjunction with the reverse feed knob. anyone had this issue and were you able to get it back together??
