I was questioning how I was going to drain the head stock reservoir oil. Then I read in the manual to disconnect the feed hose, put the gear box in neutral, put the hose in a suitable container and pump her dry.
What a piece of cake!
Took about 2 minutes or less!
I replaced all the hoses while I was at it.
The gear box and apron took longer.
Just for reference,
I used the popular Mobil DTE 24- light.

Routine maintenance, what a concept! I'll have to try it some time.
I’m a bit of a freak when it comes to maintenance.
The family vehicles always have regular service for all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
I don’t like mechanical neglect. All my machine tools are in good shape.
Even my wife’s Corona bypass clippers get cleaned, sharpened and oiled on a regular basis. Don’t get me started on knives :)

As a side note, I noticed a small pool of oil under the headstock.
I over filled about a pint. Things must have settled after a bit.
Not sure where it was coming from?
The drain goes into the top of the tank. I assume there is a vent like a rear end housing?
