Clausing Model 600, Dayton OH

oh my, that looks to be one heck of a machine. devil get behind me ---- "Oh Honey.................."

EDIT: went back to the page after the initial drool session.
415V 3PH, might have to mod that.
Looks like it was birthed in England.
Shall we start a pool to guess how high it will go?

I'm thinking it might just push 8 or 9K.
Although I haven't seen the middle cabinet in any of those pictures.
Sure is one nice machine. . .

I'm hoping someone here gets it for a steal
That would be cool. I'm trying to talk the better half into a road trip - hehe, yeah right 'good luck with that' she said....

That's an unusually short bed for that lathe, even so, it could be a nice score. I'm gonna guess $4k

That's what was bothering me about it... Is that why the chuck seems 'thin'?
But man, that carriage is something else isn't it? and the tailstock looks like a boat anchor in it's own right.

Has to be removed by a licensed-bonded machinery mover that will certainly add a few bucks

yep, yep. Like the ones I had to hire at the Tool & Die Shop auction where I scored the Bridgeport...
They were butchers. Too lazy to find where they left their slings and tried to fork it under the head and ram...
I've ranted about them in a few threads around here.

Well, so much my 'final price guestimating skills'....

It went for $3,925.90.
