Clausing Verified Lathe bought for 1k

So I bought this lathe about 3 weeks ago on OfferUp for $1,000 cash and did some research and emailed Clausings tech department asking if they had any info on it and received the email I attached come to find out it's a Clausing 100-2 sold to white star machinery in 1945 I've called White Star machinery and now they're talking to their old historian for the company to see if they can trace the lathe when they had it....As A Side note if you need manuals they will send them to you for free...... Wish I would have known that before I paid some guy in Europe 75 bucks for reprints..........

I was just told it was a 100 mk 3 and it just wasn't fitting what I found so I reached out to Clausing to verify, and found out its a 100 mk2

I'm building the frame for it right now could not afford the metal top I wanted 800 bucks for a 24x72x.5 mild steel plate..... yeah we have 3/4 sanded ply on top for right now....

Congrats! The frame may need diagonal support for the machine weight and margin of safety.
