Countersink in existing hole with drill press

I didn't specify wood, but generally they chattered in all materials I've used them on.
On metal, I've found that regular countersinks will make a smooth cut if you use very low speed.
I use them often to de-burr drilled holes at very low speed on a cordless drill.

I also tried the single flute on some aluminum. It chattered in the aluminum, but it did stay mostly centered.

I'm kinda thinking something is not tight, but I'm no expert.
I do drilling, and counter sink in one set up(Wahlstrom) but I make sure the original bit goes back in the hole( no rotation) if I have to go back for alignment in another operation.

I am getting good results with single flute and multi flute used one of two ways The first is in an extremely rigid set up where things will not move axially The second is in a handheld drill but really slow .... I can’t stand those hexagon shaped counter sink holes they are right up there with those three lobe holes in sheet metal
