The CT Antique Machinery Association (CAMA) is having it's Fall Festival next weekend Sept 28 thru 30. on Rt.7 in Kent CT.
The volunteers will be starting up and running all the antique steam, gas, diesel, hit and miss engines and power plants(one has a 15' diameter flywheel!), the sawmill and the steam train that you and the kids can ride on; Blacksmithing and Lumberjack exhibitions. There will also be enthusiasts from many states showing their own restorations on tractors, harvesting equipment and various types of antique engines. There will be a lot of vendors too; and another group from Old Wood Working Machines.org will be meeting up there for an informal swap meet and general say howdy. The Sloan Stanley Museum And CT Museum of Mining and Mineral Science are also on the grounds. While not strong on metal working and machining (they do have a vintage shop on the premises to rebuild the exhibits), it's a really great time and fun for the kids too. Love to see some you folks there to say hi to! Parking is free and there is food and drink availible, along with some superb apple pie alaMode.
If you do come, look in the parking field for some of the OWWM guys, a real friendly bunch.
