I have a Delta 16" bandsaw Model 28-540 and would like to know the proper blade length for this saw. Can't find a parts manual to download or a spec sheet.
When purchased it had a wood blade measuring 82" so I ordered a 82"long x 1/2" wide x .025" thick x 10-14 pitch bi-metalic blade for metal cutting. A 82-1/2" blade was sent which turned out to be too long as there was no take-up left. I re-ordered and the 82" works. My question is what is the right blade for this saw, for instance, can it use an 81" blade?
Hope someone can help!

The Delta 28-640 is basically the same machine.

Try wrapping a tape measure around the guide wheels. (Make sure tensioner mechanism is relieved).

No it’s not it uses a 150” blade. Delta 28-540/560 uses a 82” blade.
Google is my little friend. Cheers
