I have a Mitutoyo Digimatic dro on my mill that has until recently been a very good system. Unfortunately I ignored the red batt light and eventually the readouts started acting erratically. I replaced the batts and cleaned a slight amount of corrosion but that hasn't helped. Any ideas on the next step of troubleshooting.

Open it until you can see all the electronics and look for more corrosion. Try to remove any corrosion with a careful application of vinegar using an eye dropper or cotton swab. Aerosol electronics cleaner may work as well. Good luck.

During the cleaning I found quite a bit of corrosion on the neg side of the power port. I will know tomorrow if that did the trick or not. I also checked the voltage on the end of the power plug. It was erratic when measuring between the positive (inside) and the neg (outside) of the plug. Generally reading less than 2 volts. Measuring between the plug pos and the machine table showed nearly normal 6V. I may need to replace that as well.
