Back in the Enco days I bought a machinist jack set. While they worked pretty well and inexpensive, the first time I forgot to release it from supporting a barrel when I turned the super spacer, the rough top of the jack marred a highly polished barrel.

That was 3 years ago.

It just so happen I had left over hockey pucks from the lathe feet project so I made machinist jack using 2 pucks.

It is holding up well for 3 years

Great idea, totally non-marring.

I have also used them as machine feet, and also as a "splash shield" on a front axle to keep road debris out of the axle tube.
They are a good source of material....and easy to drill and cut.

I used one for my winch hook stop, actually my first use of a hockey Puck

I tried using pucks for feet on my lathe, too squishy, and created instability of the lathe, so I went back to solid steel rounds.
