Drill point angle

I was informed that my drill grinder does not have a 67 1/2* guide for the 135* drill. I do have 70*, and 60*. Which guide would be better to use, 130* point, or 140* point for general material, MS, AL etc?
 
I agree . Go with the 140 until you find the 135 if you really need one . Can you split the points Mike ?
 
No split point on the machine, it would have to be done manually.
 
And it is well worth learning how to grind a split point. Practice practice practice.

Gotta learn to thin the web first, and then tackle split point.:encourage:
 
I'll have to try Joe Pi's Dremel cut off wheel solution....
 
If a drill needs more than just a clean up I'll split the point first then sharpen the ends until the point meets. If I do the end first then try to split the point with the corner of my grinding wheel it's next to impossible to get it to meet at a point due to the slight radius on the edge of the wheel.

I did maybe two or three hundred drills recently, so I got quite good at it :)
