After watching a video on a float vise, I thought I need one of those, I’m wasting too much time trying to Center the vise all the time. This seemed a bit easier than making the entire thing from scratch. I simply welded a 1/2” rod to a 1/4” plate, and then used the mill to make an aluminum block that fit the outer corner of the table. Then two 1/2” blocks sandwiched together with a couple of holes. I might make a permanent handle?
In hindsight it would have made more sense to locate the rod on the right side.
