Drilling through 2” of steel

Pilot drill is for web clearance.

Get your best 1/4 drill with slow speed, lots of oil and pressure and drill a pilot.

If you stop just before the bottom (Set your stop) the almost through hole now will hold oil.

Works real good as otherwise you oil the floor.

Drill large bit with as mush pressure as the motor can take.

Keep the oil full

Put a bunch of these tips together and it worked great!

sharpene 1/4” in drill Dr and then 11/16” by hand.

no issues, used lots of cutting fluid. Backside of hole is slightly off center but has enough clearance that it works fine for its use.

fits up all good. This is for use on a dirtbike carrier for a ‘14 Grand Cherokee. The hitch is quite high on this, much taller that a Tundra. Made unloading it difficult. The original part left the bike to far away, this brings it 3” closer.

thanks for the inputs!
