Dro Jumping Around?

I have a HF 44991 mini mill with Igaging on it. It was milling some aluminum tonight and the mill was vibrating some. I noticed that the DRO was jumping around quite a bit and realized that it was way off. Is this caused by interference from the motor and if so how do you cure it?

Thanks,
Bob

I had a similar problem with my glass scales and it turned out to be misalignment with the read head.

For those igaging type scales, if it is interference from the motor/electrical system, you have to isolate it from metal to metal contact to the machine (electrical conductivity). In most cases these types of scales are fine from not being isolated from ground but it can happen.

Figured it out. I had to buy a replacement cable for one of the scales. And it was a little loose connecting to the readout. I used the hot glue gun and run a bead of hot glue around the connector. Haven't had the problem come up again.
