Early Sheldon 10 inch.

This is photos of the more or less completed lathe and cabinet.

Run out on the spindle is about .004. Lateral movment of the spindle is also about .004. Not bad for an 80 year old lathe.

I came up with a device that allows me to take the tension off the belt for changing speeds. It works pretty good.

I just used the lathe to make an adapter nut for an air sander. I want to use the sander with wire wheels in addition to the sand paper discs. The lathe cuts quite well. Now I have an excellent condition South Bend 9 C for sale.
