Er 40 Collet Chuck And Spanner Wrench

do you use the chuck wrench you made to hold the chuck while loosening the collet nut? If so, does it work ok being somewhat one directional?
It is not one directional. I use it to remove the chuck from the spindle and I simply turn it over to hold the chuck while I loosen the collet nut.

oh that's so funny, I'm such a klutz. I never even thought about turning it the other way round :)

Another great project Mark! I hope some day to have your ingenuity and skill. Thanks for sharing :cheer:

The more I read about your projects the more I want to be out there doing them. Great job again!

I just drilled two 3/8" holes across from each other, 3/8" deep and use a 3/8" round piece of hardened Drill rod 10" long to hold the chuck while tightening or loosening the nut.
Works good for getting the chuck off of the spindle with a rubber mallet when it gets too tight.
