Man, that is an old one....I think that the only way to determine its age is to do a carbon-14 analysis on it.

Just an update. I've been running for a while now and I love this mill. I have a vfd from Amazon that's working great. I also mounted a light. The quill feed, variable speed and injector are all working flawlessly.

I also added a Chinese x-axis power feed to replace the factory 3ph geared unit. I couldn't find any information on others doing this. It required me to make table end cap, cut a slot for a woodruff key in the lead screw, and Fab a way to install a tapered roller bearing to replace the captured bearing originally located on the table. Assuming you're asking about a variable speed head, If your mill head reads XLO, the belt is a Reeves 107360 (cross references to Gates Canada 2322V364).

If your mill head reads EX-CELL-O, I don't know the p/n. It may be the same one.

For the Excello head you need 1922V321 belt.

2 hp..............................head assembly 52-11882 Reeves 107360 = 2322V364
manual # 52981 with EXCELLO 1 1/2 hp and 2 hp head assembly 52-15200 Det 151 (no belt number specified)

This is one of the problems with Ex-Cell-O's documentation. If anyone has additional manuals, I would be interested in seeing them
