Just came into work and was informed we had a rather large fire in the plant last night . Half the facility is down due to it . Cardboard was laid down on a heater pipe while a valve was being replaced and apparently caught fire . Blew 2 sprinkler heads and flooded the whole place . FD came and shut off the water but not until the entire facility was saturated .

That sux for work. What does that mean for you? Some time off or even more overtime?

We hired a restoration company for the cleanup which is no problem . The problem lies in all the electrical cabinets and duct work which the water entered . All the extruders , heaters , pumps , wiring etc got drenched also . It could take awhile getting the lines back up and running again , not sure though , becuz , I'm no electrician by ANY means . :big grin:

Great fun (and big steps done fast) can be had when a fire sprinkler lets go and Somebody is standing directly underneath.
