Here are some pictures of my first 2 "steam engines" . The first is the pretty much required wobbler.

The second started out to be an Elmers "wood beam" but evolved into my interpretation of an Elmers #37 Grasshopper . It is slightly scaled up to fit the already built cylinder assembly from the "wood beam" Most everything has been changed to fit what I had laying around. There are a few parts from an old printer and rc car in the valve gear. I all most gave up towards the end when I could not get it to run. Turns out both the piston and the eccentric were loose and moving. It surprised me when on the last day I was going to mess with it I gave it some air and it started running without touching it. After fiddling with the valves and timing a little I have it running pretty nice.

Excellent work Harold!! :thumbsup2:

Now, on to the next one !

Very nice Harold! It appears that you have already learned the first requirements of model engineering: patience and perseverance. Both are necessary when working with the wee engines as they can be extremely temperamental.

Congratulations on a job well done!

Man, those are nice units. You do good work! Dave
