The digital speed readout for my milling machine has stopped working.
I have checked and cleaned the censor on the shaft and appears to be OK.
Has anyone any experience with this before I start changing computer boards.
There are 2 of them. One is a filter and the other is the main control board.
The filter is fairly inexpensive ($50) but the control board is around $275.
Both look awkward to change.

I have a grizzly G0704 which is similar model. A year ago mine stopped working, the readout acted fine but only ever showed 0, I thought I'd start with the simplest thing to change first because it wasn't worth a couple hundred for rpm readout. At grizzly the rpm sensor is $8.50, cheap enough to give it a shot, I was happily surprised that the readout showed the spindle RPM as soon as I changed it. You might want to start there as it's easiest and cheapest to replace.
My old sensor looked new, no damage or anything, just guess it went bad.
Good luck !
